Forestry is a secondary skill used in conjunction with Lumberjacking that, when used on a tree, gives the lumberjack information about what type of wood is there and how much wood is left there.
Higher skill levels reveals a better chance at figuring out information about that tree and finding out more information when successful.
GM Forestry (or Surveying) adds a 33% chance to gain additional resources.
Usage[edit | edit source]
Forestry has a pre-requisite of 30 Lumberjacking skill before you can begin.
To use Surveying, use a Prospector's Tool on a choppable tree. You can do this up to 5 times.
Bonuses[edit | edit source]
If you are at 100 of the secondary skill for the harvesting skills (Surveying/Forestry) then you have one more chance at 33% to find an additional resource to the swing, for a total possible of 4 pieces per swing.
If you are lucky enough to find an Ancient Tree, then your output is doubled, allowing up to 8 logs in a best-case scenario.
These figures do not include any artifact tools.
